On this page

NEO is a platform where players play games that other people make, and where anyone with an account can make and sell things. This section takes you from signing up to having something live that other players can find.

What you can make#

On NEO you can make two kinds of things.

WhatWhere you make itWhere players find it
GamesThe NEO Studio (in your browser) and the Creations page of the Creator HubThe home page, Charts, search, and each game's own page
Avatar items (hats, shirts and emotes)The Avatar items page of the Creator HubThe Marketplace

Games can also sell things to their players: game passes, which a player buys once, and developer products, which a player can buy again and again. Players pay for everything with NEO Credits, and you earn a share of each sale.

The path#

Most creators follow the same steps.

  1. Create an account. Guests can play, but only accounts can create. See Create your account.
  2. Open the Creator Hub. Choose Create in the top bar (or in the sidebar) to switch from playing to creating. The hub has your dashboard, your games, your avatar items, analytics and earnings. See Tour the Creator Hub.
  3. Build in the Studio. Choose Open Studio to build a world, place objects and write scripts, right in the browser. See Make your first game.
  4. Publish. Publishing makes a new version of your game. You choose whether everyone can play it or only you and your testers. See Publish and share a game.
  5. Grow and earn. Watch your visits and players in Analytics, sell passes and items, and follow your earnings in Monetization.

What happens when you publish#

Each publish creates a new, numbered version of your game, and players always get the live one. A game starts as a Draft. Once it has a published version you can make it Public, so anyone can find and play it, or keep it Private, so only you and the testers you invite can play it.
