Create your account
Sign up for NEO, what guests can and can't do, how age affects your account, and the account settings you can change.

You need a free NEO account to make games, sell items, buy things, chat and add friends. Anyone can play as a guest, but the Creator Hub and the Studio's publishing are for accounts only.
Sign up#
Choose Sign up in the top bar. The Create your account form asks for:

| Username | 3 to 20 characters: letters, numbers or underscores, starting with a letter or number. It must be unique and pass the name filter. |
| Display name | Optional, and shown to other players. If you leave it empty, your username is used. |
| Password | At least 8 characters. |
| Birthday | Required. It's never shown to anyone; NEO uses it to set what's right for your age. |
Choose Sign up to create the account. You're signed in straight away. If you already have an account, choose Log in in the top bar instead (the page is titled Sign in to NEO).
Age and your account#
Your birthday decides which protections apply to your account.
- You must be 13 or older to create an account. Accounts for players under 13 need a parent's consent, and that isn't available yet.
- Players under 18 can only send direct messages to friends their age, whatever their privacy settings say.
- Cashing out earnings is only for adults (18 and older). See NEO Credits and earnings.
Guests and accounts#
On a game's page, a visitor who isn't signed in can choose Play as guest to start playing at once. Guests are kept simple and safe:

Pages that need an account show a Create an account button to guests.
Turn a guest into an account#
A guest can keep their progress by choosing Save your progress in the top bar, or Create an account in the account menu. This opens the sign-up form with the title Save your progress. It asks for the same fields, and the guest's recent games and favorites carry over to the new account.
Choosing Leave guest mode in the account menu ends the guest session, and its progress is lost unless you created an account first. Guest accounts that aren't used for 30 days are removed.
Account settings#
Open the account menu (your name in the top bar) and choose Settings. The Your account page has these sections:

| Blocked | See and unblock players you've blocked. You block someone from their profile. |
| Notifications | Turn on Email me about friend requests and sales. In-app notifications are always on. |
| Delete account | Delete your account with your password. |
